For the genetic bug project, we had to breed with a lot of people. If the bug that you breed with is very different from your bug, your bug will most likely have an offspring who's phenotype is more different. On the other hand if the bug that you are breeding with is similar to yours, the offspring may look very similar to your bug. Most of my bugs looked pretty similar to the bugs I bred with. As a result, there were only 2-3 differences in the parent's and child's phenotype. There weren't a lot of big differences between the parents and children, but by the time I got to the f3 generation, the bug was very different from the first one.

The number of different people you breed with also affaects the bugs. If you keep breeding with the same people, there won't be a lot of variety. Your bug would have a very small family, because there wouldn't be genes from other people. Not only would the child only have genes from a few people, but it wouldn't be able to have very different traits. I bred with all different people, and now my last generation has genes from eight different people. Some of the traits I wouldn't have if I didn't breed with different people.
