Feb. 1-5

I would tell myself about stuff comparing the inner and outer planets. The outer planets are made up of gas while the inner planets are of rock. The outer planets are much bigger and more massive, but because the outer planets are made from gas, they have a lower density. Some things have to do with the distance from the sun. As the planets get farther away, the temperature drops, and so does the orbital velocity. I should also know that Mars is smaller than the Earth, and the four big outer planets all have rings, although we only usually see Saturn's rings because the ones on the other planets are too dark.

I don't think any experiment would help me, but I think that having a to-scale representation of the planets might help. In some pictures I see of planets next to each other, the scale is wrong, and the gas giants look smaller than they actually are relative to the earth.
